Hands up if you like me & have a bunch of Pattern Papers that you consider old – I mean some may only be 6 months old, but in the world of hot off the press, wanting the newest designs, it is still considered old.
I really needed to work on getting my paper stash down & I do have some photos to scrap so for my project over the long weekend I set about mixing up some older Close To My Heart Patten Paper collections with some current & with some that is new.
When mixing collections, the best thing to focus on is colour. I found a few papers that featured Sapphire in some way as well as White. I also wanted to use up my Woodgrain Die-cut Alphabet but I needed a way to tie that into things, So I pulled out the Kraft Paper, another thing I do not use often.

I cut up some strips of my pattern paper & then organised them across the page, I thought I needed more white so added some gesso so it would appear above & below the strips. Once that was dry I stamped with Sapphire ink. This gave me an “extra” strip above & below the paper ones.
I added the strips & started to look at where my photos might go & realised I need more so I added the 8″ x 12″ Flip Flaps™ Memory Protectors™ and made the design flow across.
I added some Toffee ink to the Woodgrain Die-cut Alphabet to work better with the Kraft Paper, to make my title.
All I need now is to print photos, choose if I should use white or Sapphire as my photo matts & add some journalling onto the Journaling Strip Stickers & add more embellishments.
Do you create with a mix of old & new?
