Take your cardmaking from a simple foundation stage to a Beautifully Elevated layered card, using the Stampin' Up Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection with soft colouring, elegant details, and dimension that brings the Peony Blue Blooms to life.

IInspired by the card I created earlier, Elegant Blue Blooms with the Beautiful Gallery Suite and New In Colors I used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection combined with the Painted Stripes stamp set and the brand new In Colors, Secret Sea and Cloud Cover to show how you can go from a simple idea & steps to take to create something stunning.

The Foundation Stage

While this is a simple design there still lots of techniques used to achieve this foundation stage that makes this card stunning & easy to mass create.

From Simple to Elevated: Transforming Peony Blue Blooms

I stamped the Painted Stripes stamp set first onto the Secret Sea cardstock with Secret Sea Ink and die-cut Very Vanilla cardstock with one of the Textured Notes Dies. I stamped the large peony bouquet in Secret Sea Ink & then the distressed background using second generation. I coloured the peony flower with Stampin’ Blends markers (Dark Balmy Blue, Light & Dark Misty Moonlight) & then. added splatters. I used cardstock scraps to builds up height behind the Cloud Cover cardstock and added it to the card base. I finished off with a hello stamp.

Beyond the Basics

For the stepped up version I used the same basic idea of a stamped cardbase background & the die cut Very Vanilla cardstock, but added extra steps to create more dimension.

To make the card stepped up more I die cut the stamped & coloured peony bouquet with its matching die & added another die cut to create layers. I fussy cut out the bottom part of a second peony bouquet & using foam strips I added height to the base of the flower. You can see that the foundation stage is still there, just extra steps to create more depth.

Beautifully Elevated Card

By adding more dies to the beyond basics I took the card idea to new heights, dimension & more texture.

On the very vanilla cardbase I added these flourish partial dies that are in the Beautiful Motifs Dies this added another vintage dreamy element to the card. I added extra colour to these partial dies using the Stampin’ Blends.
