Curiosity got the better of me…

I was looking at the Splash of Sparkles Specialty Designer Series Paper and started wondering — could I heat emboss on this without ruining it?

Rather than risking a whole sheet (and regretting it later), I decided to try it properly… and film the process so you don’t have to waste your paper if you’ve been wondering the same thing.

Simply Beautiful Meets Splash of Sparkles: A Heat Embossing Experiment

The Experiment

I decided to go big and use a large floral image from the Simply Beautiful stamp set.

The Process:

  1. The Prep: I cut a small piece of Splash Of Sparkles DSP used my Embossing Buddy to remove any moister or static & to keep the embossing powder in place.
  2. Stamping: I used VersaMark ink directly onto the iridescent foiled DSP.
  3. Embossing: I coated the image in Silver Embossing Powder.
  4. The Heat Test: I held my breath and applied the heat tool.

The Result? Total success! The foil did not peel, warp, or lose its luster. The silver embossing sits beautifully on top of the Highland Heather and Balmy Blue tones, creating a multi-dimensional, high-shine effect.
