Sometimes a card doesn’t need more things — it just needs smarter layering. This project started with using the large floral from Simply Beautiful and evolved into an exploration of texture, tone and depth using stamps, ink and paper alone.

Texture doesn’t have to mean bulky.
This card is all about letting stamps do the work — layered Simply Beautiful florals, the added texture from the Lasting Linen Stamp Set and soft colouring against a deep Night of Navy base.
By stamping the Lasting Linen Stamp Set background in Night of Navy ink onto the same colour cardstock (tone-on-tone), we create a rich, fabric-like depth that makes the Daffodil Delight coloured flowers practically leap off the page.
Creative Spotlight: The Organic Leaf Technique: Instead of standard cardstock, I created a custom “wash” using Old Olive ink before stamping and die-cutting the leaves. This gives each leaf a unique, organic variation that you just can’t get from a flat piece of paper. It’s a small extra step that makes a huge impact!
Final Details That Matter
The tiny gold dots in the flower centers? Those add a touch of elegance and draw the eye inward. Small metallic accents like this elevate a card from handmade to professionally crafted.
I also carefully considered which leaves to tuck behind flowers versus which to bring forward. Some peek out from behind, others sit on top – this variation makes the arrangement feel natural and intentional.
Simply Beautiful is one of those stamp sets that rewards a little play — stamped leaves, die-cut leaves, ink washes and gentle blending all working together.
