A showstopper in neutrals that proves you don’t need colour to make an impact.
Some cards stop you in your tracks — and this is one of them.
This Double Gate Fold Shadow Box Card was a joy to make, and I still love how it turned out. The entire palette is built around Crumb Cake, yet it never feels flat or one-dimensional. That’s the magic of combining structure with layering — and a little bit of vellum.

What Makes This Card Special
The foundation is a Double Gate Fold base, which creates those beautiful architectural panels that open to reveal a dimensional shadow box interior. It’s a fun fold that looks far more complex than it actually is to construct — which is always a win!
The florals are from the Simply Beautiful stamp set, stamped onto both cardstock and vellum, then coloured with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. Stamping onto vellum gives the flowers that soft, ethereal quality — they almost glow against the structured card base. Layering the two together adds genuine depth without bulk.
The finishing touch is a “Just Because” sentiment from the Words of Beauty stamp set — a lovely pairing that reminds us handmade cards don’t need a reason. Sometimes just because is reason enough.
