One of my favourite things about crafting is the freedom to mix and match products that weren’t necessarily designed to go together. One of the joys of papercrafting is the freedom to play—no rules, just creativity.
For this Halloween card, I combined the Spooky Halloween Bundle with the Peaceful View stamp set, Beautiful Gallery DSP, the Damask Designs Embossing Folder, and the Branching Out Dies and the result was a Halloween card with a whole lot of character!
Don’t be afraid to blend the unexpected!
At first glance, these collections seem worlds apart—Halloween icons, tranquil scenery, elegant damask textures, and gallery-inspired paper. But when you play with colour blending, embossing, and layering, they suddenly come together in harmony. The bright Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape background brings an eerie glow, while the framed embossing adds elegance and depth.
Of course, Frankenstein pup steals the spotlight, because who can resist a dog with a lollipop?
I started by blending Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape inks, then stamped the peaceful scene from Peaceful View with spooky bats from the Spooky Halloween Bundle. in Secret Sea Ink. A detailed frame cut with the Branching Out Dies and embossed with Damask Designs added extra drama. The subtle texture of the Beautiful Gallery DSP set the stage for my favourite part—the Frankenstein pup coloured with Stampin’ Blends.
Mixing and matching your stash can open up a whole new level of creativity. This Halloween card proves that when you mix different products in your stash, you can create something truly unique.
