For me when I am in a bit of a crafting rut or lost my crafting mojo, I go back to the basics to get a creative kick start, one way I do this is by heading to a tried & true card pattern.
Today I used one from the Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 4 (Pattern 4) which you can also find another idea on this pattern in the Love of Color Idea Book. I have rotated the pattern to the side on two of these cards & used lots of different paper suites & stamp sets that are all current right now.
First card I created is that cute Halloween Card which has no stamping involved. I used the Spooktacular sticker sheet along with the paer to create this & drew in the spiders hanging web parts – I think this card is super cute.
For the next card I rotated the design & used the new Cedar & Pine paper & mix it up with the Sep-Nov Mix-in papers to create this Birthday Card
I then went back to the original rotation of the design & made this super quick shaker card with the Holly Jolly Papers & Sticker sheet. I was happy to see that the snow globe was the perfect size to use with the Shaker card pieces.
And the final card I rotated the design again to make this sweet thanks card using Every Little Thing, a scrap of Hawthorn paper & this sweet dawn from the Woodlands Greetings.
And so you get an idea how this back to basic idea of how using a card pattern can be helpful & still allow your cards to look different depending on papers, stamps & embellishments, I put them all together in one image.
I hope you enjoyed what I created, as much as I enjoyed creating it and thanks so much for taking the time to check it out.
I’d love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Lauren Moore to get more Back to the Basics ideas.

Such cute cards! It’s almost hard to believe that it’s the same sketch each time. Thanks for showing the versatility and ease of using a sketch.

OH! I love how you showed the same pattern four different ways. I always forget that you can just rotate them. Thank you for joining the Technique Blog Hop this month. I can’t wait to see what you create next month. ☕💙 MissC

Nice job showing how the patterned can be rotated to create cards that look very different from each other. I also like that you showed both stamping and non-stamping options for card making.
