This card started as a shadowbox pop-up and became something a little more magical when I decided to swap the standard window for a vellum shaker.

The Shadowbox Foundation
The base of this card is a shadowbox pop-up fold — a structure that creates depth and dimension by building inward toward a recessed window. On a standard shadowbox card, that window would typically be open to see to the inside layered section. I made a different choice here.
Instead of a open window, I used vellum to create a soft, frosted panel — and then added loose gold sequins inside as the shaker element. The result is a window that glows rather than simply reveals, and those Loose Gold Sequins catch the light and shift gently when the card is moved. It’s a tactile, sensory detail that makes this card genuinely delightful to hold and handle.
The 2026–2028 In Colour butterflies add a tiny, delicate finishing touch that you almost miss on first glance — and then can’t stop noticing.
The gold foil sheets were perfect touch to cut out the Thank You using the Words & Wishes to add to the front. They match beautifully with the Loose Gold Sequins.
A note: the Loose Gold Sequins are currently on the Last Chance list. If you want to recreate this card, now is the time to grab them.
The Framed Violets Bundle has such an heirloom quality — those clustered violets with their detailed foliage feel like something from a botanical illustration, and the deep navy cardstock base anchors the whole design beautifully.
