This stunning Elegant Birthday Pillar Bridge Card combines several of my favourite techniques into one elegant birthday card as well as combining a rich colour pallet of an Early Espresso backdrop with the pops of gold foil, paper-toled pink rose, and 3D pillar structure to create an absolute showstopper.

Echoes of Detail Background
The background may look subtle at first glance, but it’s full of texture and detail.
I created the background using the Echoes of Detail Hot Foil Dies and coordinating stamps. The stamped images were inked with Early Espresso Ink onto Early Espresso Cardstock, creating a tone-on-tone effect that adds interest without overwhelming the design.
To add even more luxury, I used the Echoes of Detail foiling plate in two different ways.
The same plate was also used as a letterpress plate, pressing the intricate design into the cardstock to leave a debossed impression. Combining both techniques gives the background wonderful depth while keeping everything coordinated.
Gold hot foiling creates beautiful metallic highlights.
The Sweetly Sentimental Focal Point
The large rose from Sweetly Sentimental was coloured in rich pink tones and then layered to create a dimensional effect inspired by traditional paper tole. Building the petals in layers gives the bloom extra life and draws your eye straight to the centre of the card.
The sentiment combines the elegant Words of Beauty dies with a simple birthday greeting, bringing together bold gold accents with soft floral colouring.
The Pillar Bridge design frames the floral arrangement beautifully while allowing glimpses of the foiled background to peek through. It’s a fun fold that’s surprisingly easy to make and folds flat for mailing, making it perfect for special birthdays.
If you love cards that make a grand statement when opened and displayed, this interactive pillar structure is for you!
