Welcome to this month’s Technique Blog Hop where we the theme is to “Anything Goes” with Close To My Heart products.

If you have arrived here from Tamara Sandwisch then you are in the right place.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

There are so many products to choose from for this technique hop “Make it Shine” So I went through all my shiny products & in the end I used Gold Foil cardstock, Solar Flare Stickles™ Glitter Gel, Gilt Gloss Spray, Gold Embossing Powder & Rose Gold Liquid Pearls. And then while on my early morning walks I seen all the Golden Wattle trees in bloom (they start to bloom late winter early spring here in Australia – so they are just about finishing blooming now) & knew I had to use some sort of Green colours to go with all the gold.

I also wanted to incorporate the Mermaid Lagoon which is one of the new colours Close To My Heart has added to the Distressed Oxide range. So I started with that & blended it Mowed Lawn Distress oxide so I got some nice blue/green colours. I then sprayed some Gilt Gloss Spray (one of the new colours added to the Gloss Spray range) and felt it needed more gold. So I stamped a paint splatter from the Perfectly Imperfect Patterns in versa mark ink & gold embossed. It took me a day to think what I would do next with this background before I ran it through the Die-cutting & Embossing Machine with the Botanical Embossing Folder. And then I loved how the background looked.

I die cut the large circle & embossed the Happy Birthday from the Embroidered Card Front stamp set & cut out some flowers & leaves using the Layered Flowers Thin Cuts. I added then Solar Flare Stickles™ Glitter Gel to make them stand out just a bit from the background & added some Gold Foil cardstock to the flower centres and finished off with a couple of drops of Rose Gold Liquid Pearls.

I had fun creating this card and loved how it all came together & I’d love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Darlys Recker to get more Make it Shine ideas.

If you like to get any of the products that I have used in this project, please contact your Close To My Heart Consultant or if you do not have a consultant & are an Aussie, I would love for you to place an order with me on my website

Till Next time
See you soon
