There’s something magical about the colour combination of Secret Sea, Lost Lagoon, and Strawberry Slush! This soft, sophisticated palette creates a fresh spring Sweet Blooms vibe that’s perfect for encouragement cards.

The Sketch that Inspired the Card

This card is a great example of how a sketch can spark creativity! I was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #717 – A Sketch by Narelle to create my card

The custom pattern strip, split sentiment, and tulip scene from Sweet Blooms. Added hand-drawn borders to bring it all together!

Clean and Simple Card

I started off creating a strip of pattern paper with one of the stamps from Sweet Blooms with Secret Sea Ink. I then built this card around the sentiment first and let the florals fill in the gaps. Words make great design guides — have you tried this approach?

Using the words as a guide I added the leaves in Lost Lagoon Ink & then the Flowers in Strawberry Slush Ink.

Once the card was assembled, it felt… finished — but a little flat.
So I reached for a pen and added hand-drawn doodle lines around the card panel. That small detail instantly softened the edges and gave the card a more relaxed, artistic feel. Sometimes it’s those imperfect, hand-drawn touches that bring a project to life.

This is a great example of how you don’t need lots of products or layers — just thoughtful placement, a simple colour palette, and a willingness to experiment.
