I started off with this card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #601 – A Sketch by Linda and knew I wanted to use the Good Life Collection but I wanted to see what the image would look like on coloured cardstock & I am so happy how it turned out. It is just paper try it out – you might be surprised & it will open up a whole world of possibilties.
Now first the Sketch that was was used.

So I cut up the bottom strips from the The Good Life Paper Packet which is the gorgeous outback, grunge farm inspired collection. And I stamped the The Good Life—Cardmaking Stamp Set onto Periwinkle Cardstock, which I thought would be good for the base of the river & sky in the background. And while I knew that my markers will now have a blueish tonne to the colours I add, I think for this image it works.

I added the Cattails from the Dragonfly Wishes to the side of the river. I did not bother with masking as I was fine with intersecting lines on this. And finished off the scene with the smallest dragonfly from the same set.

I coloured in the whole scene with Tri-Blend Markers and added some glitter to my dragonfly so it looked a bit shimmery. I completed the card by popping up the main panel & adding a tiny Happy Birthday sentiment.
I really love how this all came together & the Freshly Made Sketches #601 – A Sketch by Linda was the perfect jumping off point & inspired me to mix up stamp sets & try a coloured cardstock for the background instead.
Why not give these ideas a try yourself.
